CMDE is a living changing and open institution – in this way it feels almost non-institutional. The tone and the atmosphere is strikingly different than most dance studios, which makes it a great place to “hang out.” This had much to do with Elissa, the managing director, all the teacher, Shirley the visionary and just the entire ethos of the place. Even thought their programming and their performances are outstanding, they are always open to change and adjustment according to their students. In other words, they listen. They listen to their students, to parents, to each other and they keep listening. I hope they are listening NOW!!!!
